Under the theme ‘From Carmen to West Side Story’, the Triangle Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Sarah Whitney, will present a concert experience on Monday 22 June 2026 in the Glass Hall of the Vienna Musikverein that uniquely combines musical diversity and youthful excellence. Admission is free; all donations from this concert evening will go to Volkshilfe Wien.

From the colourful, dramatic sounds of Bizet’s Carmen Suite, through the powerful overture to Verdi’s Nabucco, to Bernstein’s lively West Side Story and the adventurous soundscapes of Pirates of the Caribbean, the varied programme unfolds with equal measures of emotional depth and radiant energy.

The Triangle Youth Philharmonic Orchestra is the flagship ensemble of Triangle Youth Music, one of the leading youth music organisations in North Carolina. It brings together highly talented young musicians in a challenging symphonic setting and is committed to musical excellence, dedicated support for young talent and a strong sense of community. As the official youth orchestra of the North Carolina Symphony, it has been a defining feature of the region’s cultural life for many years.

Volkshilfe Wien is one of the largest social organisations in Vienna. It supports, advises and cares for people in all circumstances. With more than 1,800 staff members, Volkshilfe Wien operates as a professional service provider on behalf of the public every day. Its activities range from mobile care and support, housing and homelessness support, securing housing and preventing evictions, and labour market integration, to refugee support, community work and social work with children, young people and families. More than 500 volunteers and around 3,000 members make us one of the strongest social organisations in Vienna.
