To mark the 200th anniversary of Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein, a festive concert is held in St. Stephen's Cathedral. The net proceeds go towards the preservation of St. Stephen's Cathedral. W. A. Mozart's Coronation Mass and A. Bruckner's Te Deum will be performed by the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, the Slovak Philharmonic Choir and top international soloists.

Stephansdom Wiener StädtischeThe Coronation Mass by W. A. Mozart is one of his most important and solemn church music works. How it came to be called the Coronation Mass, which first appeared in 1873, is still disputed today. Immediately after Mozart's death, the mass became the preferred composition for church services at imperial and royal coronations. It was probably first used as part of the coronation celebrations for Emperor Franz II.

The program is rounded off with the Te Deum by A. Bruckner, whose 200th birthday is celebrated this year. It is one of the highlights of the composer's artistic output, who himself described the work as the “pride of my life” and dedicated it “personally” to God.

Under the direction of Stefan Vladar, the masterpieces will be performed by the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, the Slovak Philharmonic Choir and soloists Simona Šaturová, Dorottya Láng, Michael Schade and Günther Groissböck. The evening will be complemented by cathedral organist Konstantin Reymaier with a piece by C. Widor on the giant organ.
